This is a piece of jewelry that can be worn thru the holidays into the winter months. Holly has become a symbol of Christmas due to its ability to stay green and vibrant during the winter months. This makes it a great plant to use in decorations. Here I have hand drawn my holly leaf on copper sheet metal and hand cut to create my copper holly leaf. It has been heated and form folded, hammered and textured to become holly.
I gave my holly leaf an oxidized patina and have protected the patina with a coat of jewelry lacquer. This leaf measures 2 inches in length and 1 inch in width. I have accented with red glass beads to represent the berries. I have used a 24 inch 4.8 mm copper ball chain for the necklace. This length easily slips over the head.
