The lariat is one of my favorite ways to wear a necklace, No clasps to fool with and easy to adjust to a length that is comfortable or accents my clothing. I began with a copper hand cut disk and then added a pattern to create an etching on the metal. I gave the finished pendant an oxidized patina. I created a hammered, twisted wire bail which I also oxidized. I then created a beaded section of smokey quartz, copper beads, onyx and clear glass Czech beads. To finish the lariat, I added a crystal glass vintage prism which I wired with copper wire and embellished with smokey quartz and onyx previously used in the lariat. The prism measures 2 1/4 inches in length and 1 1/4 inches wide. This is a beautifully shaped scalloped teardrop pendant which captures the light and has sparkle.
The overall length of this lariat is 36 inches. This is a beautiful statement piece of jewelry.
