Bees pollinate our fields, orchards and gardens — providing nearly one-third of the food we eat. They bring sweetness to our lives.
This is a handmade pendant created from copper sheet metal. I have added a bee and honeycomb design and then placed the pendant in an acid bath to etch the design into the copper permanently. I then gave this pendant an oxidized patina along with a clear coat of jewelry lacquer to protect the finish.
I have added the pendant to a strand of 4mm, 6mm, 8mm and 10mm matte finished Onyx beads along with Yellow Mookaite beads as an accent. I also added a copper leaf as an embellishment and then joined 1mm black leather cord to the beads.
The overall length of this necklace is 20 inches and the pendant is 1 1/2 in x 1 1/2 in.
