Fall is coming and it's time fork leaves! My pendant began with copper sheet metal from which I cut a 2 inch circle. I have embossed there oak leaf into the metal and then added the leaf veins and detail which as then etched into the metal. I have hammered this pendant into a concave shape, given an oxidized patina and a clear coat of jewelry lacquer to protect the finish. I have added an acorn accent created with a brecciate jasper bead and copper acorn cap.
I have added the pendant to a strand of square Mookaite stones accented with matte finish Onyx stones and embellished with copper beads. I then added a second strand of round Mookaite and small Onyx beads. I have attached the beaded section to lengths of natural deerskin lace. The overall total length of the necklace is 50 inches which allows for the necklace to be tied at various lengths.
Mookaite jasper's unusual origins mean that it can only be found in one area on Earth making it all the more rare and desirable among gemstone collectors. This completely natural gemstone is only mined in Western Australia from the Kennedy Ranges near Gascoyne Junction.
